Why is the Commerce Dept. pleading communist China to move Chinese companies into 30,000 acres in FTZs?
Q. This is an urgent message! Read this and spread the word! Subject: Foreign Trade Zones. This is unbelievable at first, but you will soon realize that there are several motives for the global communists to physically weave our United States territory together with communist China. Read On! Here's what is going on! Each and every one of our state governors has approved and allocated a certain amount of acres of their U.S. state land to be inhabited by Chinese communists --communists straight from China! They are to set up little towns and live here, supposedly for the purpose of producing Chinese products for sale in the U.S.A. The land the states are giving them for their little towns will be considered "foreign territory"!!! We… [cont.]

A. Urban legend alert! FTZs predate Communist China by 15 years: they started in 1934. People can't live in a FTZ. They are US territory with US laws, the only thing they get are a few tax breaks and a few less Customs regulations. They are essentially storage and assembly points to encourage foreign companies to operate here. Once the goods leave an FTZ, they get taxed and subject to Customs duties. WHERE does this nonsense come from?

I have a question about running boards on a Chevy Silverado?
Q. I have a 99 (new body) Chevy Silverado 1500 Ext Cab 4x4 I love my truck, and I'd like to put running boards on it There are a million Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras for sale on craigslist in Boise, and half of them have running boards I'm going to make an offer to buy the running boards off of somebody's truck, but before I do, I want to make sure that they are bolt on instead of weld on How much work is it going to be to take these off and put them on? Thanks 10 pts to best answer

A. I have an 06 extended cab with tubular assist steps. Looking to sell them as the lease is over next month. Anyway, most of these steps use the bolts for the frame. Remove them, hold step up to hole and reinstall, no drilling or welding needed.

Unemployed, all bills due, and about to be evicted. Where can a family find emergency assistance?
Q. I got fired from my job in June for lack of sales. I've gone to unemployment, got denied unemployment insurance. Applied for jobs at several places locally, but don't have ANY money for gas to commute the 40 mile drive to boise where I could probably get work. Welfare isn't an option, because we didn't qualify for it, and even if we had they only provide $309 per month. My wife, my 4 yr old and I are literally at the point where a miracle is necessary to save us from homelessness. out of desperation I even started checking out the work from home online stuff, 99.9% of which are scams, and the .1% that arern't cost $97 dollars, or $197 dollars. We're really, royally screwed, and need help. anyone got any idaes?

A. Anything that you have to pay for to work from home is a scam...just remember that. Catholic churches have and know good resources for needy families. They may be able to help with rent/mortgage, power bills, gas money, food, toiletries, etc. So, try giving them a call. If you get to a point where there is no money coming in then you will qualify for assistance through your county or state even if you didn't qualify before when you had a job. Try reapplying... I know times are hard. I'm feeling the strain of a failing economy also...just barely keeping above water... I'm sorry for what you are going through hope things start looking up soon.

A. here are my thoughts, my first bike was a 600cc and its was perfect for me. I sat on a 250cc bike and i didn't feel comfortable because the bike was so small. i have a Honda shadow and I love it to pieces. I did dump it once when i was first learning, but it will happen. My advice to you is to go to the dealers and sit on didn't kinds of motorcycles. you will know which feels the best to you. just because i have a 600cc bike doesn't mean i use it, its all up to you weather you use all the cc's or not. its all on how the rider uses the throttle. good luck and ride safe!

Anybody have an idea how to start this Database project?
Q. I have a database that I need to design for a car dealership in Boise, Idaho that repairs used cars and then resells these cars to the public. The sale price of the completed car is based on the original cost of the car plus all the time and repairs. This system tracks all the information necessary: -Location from which the car came -Location from which the parts came -To whom the car was sold -Plus all the costs associated with each individual car. --- I'm trying to think of the best ways to do this, any opinions on what tables to form for the data and anything else to get a conceptual diagram for this? Nothing too complicated, this should be pretty basic to do.

Q. Ok, i have 2 spreadsheets, one is a huge list of customers with names, address, phone, etc. the other is a daily calender. I am trying to set up a monthly schedule for our sales reps by taking the info from the cust. list to the calender. A. You seem to have 2 questions: 1) How to tell Excel to add a new line: - insert a CHAR(10) wherever you want to start a new line - for example, if customer name is in A5 and address in B5, you would have this: =A5 & CHAR(10) & B5 - you will just need to make sure text wrapping is turned on for the cell (Format Cells - Alignment tab - check Wrap text). 2) How to copy (or drag) the formula and have the row numbers update automatically. - you need "relative" addressing, which means you will need to take the $ off the row numbers, so for example $A5 instead of $A$5 in your example I hope this helps, but add more details, or e-mail, if you need more info. Best of luck. .

A. that is why it is best to buy fresh and LOCALLY. Pay a little more and get organic and items produced only in the US!! Wash everything before you eat it, and cook everything thoroughly. I only eat critters that I know (my neighbors lamb, chickens, eggs and beef) and know what they ate and even who butchers them! Tom's of Maine has organic toothpaste. And for goodness sake, get organic, no sugar added natural peanut butter. You can grind it yourself at a whole foods store or in the organic section at your grocery. grow your own veggies or get them from your local farmer's market. Even the beer and wine we drink is made locally! You can easily drop out of the world market and have safe and healthy whole foods if you put in a little effort.

A. That's the reason why we should bit ch slapped these companies executives and owner for having our food being imported, and that we should not allow outsourcing of jobs to other countries. So what if we pay a little more, at least we don't have to worry that we are gonna die of some poison in our food.

A. That's it, I'm going vegan organic and I'm buying nothing unless it is grown and made in the U.S. And, I'll probably start growing it myself. Corporations are getting way too greedy. And, the FDA is made up of all these corporate profiteers in the food industry and beef industry. Time to take our country back.

A. Go to maps.google.com and look at the satellite imagery. You can't get to the lowest level down, but that'll at least give you an aerial view. To say the obvious, borrow someone else's camera and take a picture with it. If you want it online then get a digital camera. By the way, you can't save the google satellite imagery as you would normal images. You might have to use a screen capture utility. That's a whole 'nother kettle of worms -- ask people how to get a photo capture of the google satellite imagery.

Boise or Spokane? What do I need to know?
Q. My wife and I will be moving in a year or so after finishing up school. We have decided that we want to live in the Northwest. By figuring the cost of living in comparison to average wages for our degrees we have settled on two locations. Spokane or Boise The towns tell us enough good stuff in the literature that they send us so we want the bad as well as some of the good we may not have considered yet. Here is some of our information if it helps in your answers. We are a young couple (mid-20's) I am searching for a career in HVAC Controls Design/Sales and my wife is a graphic designer. We both plan to attend more school; me graduate in education and wife would like to finish BA. We like the quiet countryside and an abundance of outdoor… [cont.]

A. As far as Spokane goes, I am not so sure about career opportunities in the graphic designs field, but I remember always seeing ads for HVAC companies. You may want to research that a bit more for your wife before making a decision. In my own personal opinion, if you have concerns about crime, or any personal struggles concerning drug use, I would choose Boise over Spokane. Spokane does have a higher crime rate, and is well known for its drug problems. But, like with any larger city, you just have to choose your neighborhoods wisely. Unfortunately, two college kids starting out may not be able to afford to live in the "safer" areas. There is also the option of Cheney, Wa... It's about 20 minutes southwest of Spokane and the… [cont.]

Would living in Idaho as a teenager be a good decision?
Q. My dad is likely to be head of sales for his company and his boss wants to open another office, this time in Idaho. We live in Southern California and I am almost 14 but I'm a lot more mature for my age. I don't know what the people are like there and I was hoping someone could tell me what there is to do in Boise and what teenagers do for fun and also, is it anything like Southern California?

A. Boise is actually a very cool town with lots of things to do. It has a vibrant downtown that gets crowded sometimes due to the proximity to BSU. I am also from southern Cal and I moved to Boise a few years ago, I have since had to move away but I'm trying to get back to Boise. Idaho is a beautiful state with lots of outdoor recreation. The rivers and mountains are amazing. The boise river runs right through the middle of town and you can just float along. It has some similarities to So Cal in that it is kind of deserty, the same type of landscape that LA would have if it were not entirely paved over. The people are decent, mostly the same type of people as say Temecula or northen San Diego county. Mostly white, normal people. A few… [cont.]

Is the company I was with being sneaky or breaking the law?
Q. I "lost" my job last Saturday. Reason why I put the lost in quotations is because I'm not necessarily laid off. Here's what's going on: I was working with Albertson's Grocery store here in Boise, ID. I was working in their coffee bar. That department closed down due to lack of sales. I was told that there wasn't any other position for me or hours at the meantime, but to keep calling back every week/be on-call. They are not putting me on a lay-off status so I can claim unemployment because they have me on-call so I'm "technically still with the company." At the same time, I'm not getting any income. Right now, I'm trying to find a job (which everyone knows is a bitch) and can't do anything about paying my bills?! Are… [cont.]

A. Sounds like they are trying to not pay unemployment funds on you. Being 'on call' does not provide you with any income or company benefits, so they are basically leading you on hoping you will follow., File for unemployment. You earned the money they took out for unemployment insurance and now you need it . Good Luck and don't let them lead you on any longer.
